We’re pleased to announce that the S. Mark Taper Foundation has awarded our organization a generous grant to support essential upgrades at the Thurgood Marshall Justice Center in Compton. This investment will modernize key areas of the building to better support our staff and the clients who rely on us.
The grant will fund a major renovation of all restrooms, improving accessibility, functionality, and comfort for visitors and team members. Updated fixtures, layouts, and accessibility features will help create a more welcoming and dignified experience for everyone we serve. This work is part of our broader effort to strengthen the quality, safety, and usability of our facilities across the Compton office.
Our Compton office was named the Thurgood Marshall Justice Center with permission from Cecilia Marshall, who wrote in 1993 that she had “no objection” to honoring her late husband’s legacy in this way. We remain proud to carry Justice Marshall’s name as we continue advancing equity and access to justice in our community.
